What We Do & Why We Do It
Our business is called Happy Stays. We are short term and holiday accommodation specialists. We offer high quality, well presented and fully equipped self-catering properties in Northern Ireland and Donegal to both the tourism and corporate sectors. Using our vast knowledge and experience we offer a range of management services to owners who want their holiday property to be well maintained, looked after and increase their income potential over both peak and low seasons throughout the year.
In 2018 Belfast and The Causeway Coast were voted the ‘Best Regions to Visit’ by the ‘Lonely Planet Guide’. In the first 6 months of 2017, tourism numbers for NI increased by 10% to a record of over 2 million with an increase of 23% from the Republic of Ireland.
The words ‘Belfast is booming’ now means something great! The range of attractions and facilities are increasing and there is a real demand for high quality fully equipped accommodation in Northern Ireland. We are excited to be a part of this. We are passionate about what we do and our guest and owners reviews are the best way we can demonstrate this!
All of our NI properties are tourist board certified and fully insured.
Who We Are
Happy Stays is very much a family business but with an extensive background in the property and hospitality sectors. Kim went from a block management background to property development and in 2009 opened a letting agency here in Belfast. After 5 years of building strong client relationships she identified an increase in demand for shorter stay accommodation and assisted film crews and corporate with finding suitable properties for their staff, cast and crew. In 2015 she sold the lettings business and after a period of merger with a larger estate agency firm, she carried on building a portfolio of her own serviced accommodation and took on management of two more traditional holiday homes for a client in Donegal.
Damien lived in Germany and England and has worked extensively within the catering and hospitality sectors and held an area management role for large food chain before returning to Northern Ireland. Damien has an exemplary eye for detail and works closely with our owners to build long lasting and valuable relationships. He tries to meet all of our guests and works tirelessly to ensure they have the best possible stay when visiting one of our properties. Damien recently completed the World Host Certification and is responsible for managing our team on the ground!
Kim and Damien live close to Belfast and have a young family and a little dog! When they aren’t working, they love nothing more than beach walks with fishing rods and collecting seaglass!
Since 2016 Kim and Damien have worked tirelessly to combine their very much complimentary experience to build a service orientated business and immerse themselves in the history and tourism sector. They seized the opportunity to learn about what guests look for in holiday accommodation here in Belfast city and beyond.
